Woman reports she was attacked by burglar

A 56-year-old woman reported to the police that a man broke into her house early on Saturday, hit her and stole €236 from her wallet.

According to police, the burglary took place at 3.50am in Ayios Ioannis, Limassol.

The suspect broke into the house by breaking a window. When he saw the woman he hit her with his hands and kicked her, police said.

He took the money out of her purse, in the bedroom, and fled.

He is described as 1.75 to 1.80 metres tall and thin, and wearing a beanie.

The woman, who suffered abrasions and bruises on her body and head, was kept for treatment at the hospital as a precautionary measure.
