Government condemns vandalism attack on Kostrikis’ car

Government Spokesman Kyriakos Kousos, in a post on Twitter on Sunday condemned what he called “malicious actions” against senior government scientific adviser Leondios Kostrikis.

Kostrikis, head of the biotechnology and molecular virology lab at the University of Cyprus reported to police that someone had spray painted slogans on his car.

The case is being investigated.

“We condemn the malicious actions against Professor Kostrikis, a worthy scientist who offers his valuable services along with other colleagues on a non-profit basis for our country,” Koushos said in his post.

He did not reveal what the slogans were.
