Coronavirus: Rapid tests to be considered positive confirmation of Covid

The health ministry announced on Monday that those who test positive after a rapid test will be considered a confirmed coronavirus case.

The ministry made the decision based on the high confirmation rate by PCR test of the positive rapid tests, reaching about 97 to 98 per cent.

Starting Monday, individuals who test positive for rapid tests will be considered and treated as confirmed cases and will not need PCR verification.

Prior, those tested positive with a rapid tests had to be confirmed with a PCR test to be identified as a positive Covid-19 case.
