Tobacco seized as duties not paid

Police seized six kilos of tobacco for which duties had not been paid in the Larnaca district on Sunday.

Officers stopped a car driven by a 36-year-old man in the district at around 6.30pm and searched the vehicle.

They found six kilos of tobacco in a box.

The driver allegedly admitted he had bought the tobacco without paying duties.

He was fined €1,400 while the tobacco was confiscated.
