Police arrest man in suspected car theft case

Paphos police arrested a 21-year-old man on Monday after they found four persons travelling in a car with number plates belonging to a different vehicle.

The car had been stopped on Monday afternoon during routine checks,

The driver and three passengers, none of whom were wearing a protective mask, got out of the car and fled.

Three of them got away but one of the passengers, a 21-year-old, was caught and subsequently placed under arrest.

An investigation showed the number plates of the car as well as the chassis number belonged to a different vehicle.
