The secondary school parents’ association has called on the health ministry and government Covid-19 advisory team to allow for final-year students to return to school.

Their call on Monday stated that should the current coronavirus restriction go beyond the January 31 timeframe, or not be sufficiently reduced, that the students with upcoming Pancyprian exams be allowed to return to school.

The parents’ association also called for the education ministry to announce as soon as possible the material which will be covered in the exams, so that students, teachers and parents can prepare accordingly.

There have been calls for the topics covered in the exams to be reduced. This approach to the exams was echoed by the association, which asked that the conditions under which teaching has taken place also be reflected in the content of the exams.
