Whatever the future holds, we know that you want to build a strong foundation for your students so that they can succeed in whatever they go on to do.

Our global community of schools tell us that the Cambridge Primary programme helps students achieve academically and also develop soft skills, broader knowledge and to understand the value of collaboration.

A flexible programme

For many of our schools, the programme is part of a ‘best of both worlds’ approach. Cambridge Primary is often combined with your national curriculum, so that students can maintain links to national learning whilst adding an international element. If continued, this combination can lead to universities in your country and abroad and is very popular with parents that have broad aspirations for their child.

While the Cambridge Primary programme is taught in English, it is international in its philosophy and can be easily tailored to local contexts.

The curriculum has just launched four new subjects – Art and Design, Physical Education, Digital Literacy and Music, which, added to the existing subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Global Perspectives, gives even more choice.

Tracking students’ progress

Accurately measuring a student’s potential and progress can transform learning and help you make informed decisions about individual learners, their educational needs and where to focus your teaching efforts.

Many of our schools use the Cambridge Primary testing structure to assess learner performance, and report progress to students and parents. These assessments are optional and you can use them in any combination.

At the end of the programme, learners can take ‘Checkpoint’ tests which are marked by Cambridge International to give you extra confidence in the feedback you share with parents. Each student’s progress is compared to international benchmarks and the rest of the student’s class. Schools tell us that the testing is very beneficial and that it helps students to understand their education journey which makes them more motivated and engaged in learning.

Support for teachers and school leaders

Cambridge teachers have access to over 30,000 high-quality resources to help with lesson planning, assessment and test preparation. The Cambridge Primary support site has everything you need to ensure your teachers feel fully prepared to teach the curriculum, including: teacher guides, schemes of work, curriculum frameworks, mark schemes community forums and more.

There are also regular professional development courses for teachers which means learning within an international community and drawing on examples from all around the world.

Join us for a discovery tea break

On Tuesday February 9 we are hosting a virtual Cambridge Primary discovery tea break for schools at 15:00 GMT / 16:00 CEST / 17:00 EET. We’ll be joined by schools that have adopted the Cambridge Primary programme in their school, and they will talk through the benefits and challenges of the programme.

Sign up today using the QR code or at www.cambridgeinternational.org/discover-primary so that you can hear their stories and ask any questions that you might have.
