Covid measures have gone too far

The world is at war, not over races or nations, but over ideologies. Families and friends have been divided by their opinions on Covid and the responses to it.
In Cyprus it has been decided that we need to be a police state, run much like Nazi Germany. A telephone number has been provided to snitch on neighbours and those whose opinions differ to those of the caller. The police are only too happy to hand out fines and set up roadblocks to catch the slightest infraction of the rules.
Yes, there is a killer virus, but look at the statistics provided by the government and you’ll see the measures are overkill. They show that the average age of death from or with the virus in Cyprus is 80. By all means protect the vulnerable, keep out those from countries whose infection rate is worse but let the rest of us get on with our lives.
People are having their livelihoods, sanity and relationships destroyed by this totalitarian and draconian lockdown. Utilise the right resources in the right places and don’t make peoples lives a living hell.
