Coronavirus: 168 people fined for breaching decrees

A total of 168 individuals were fined for breaching coronavirus decrees from Wednesday until Thursday morning, police reported.

Unlike other days, no businesses were booked.

A total of 9,950 checks were carried out in 24 hours, 2,303 in Nicosia, 1,726 in Limassol, 1,371 in Larnaca, 633 in Paphos, 840 in Morphou and 1,448 in the Famagusta district.

As a result, 52 persons were booked in Nicosia, 50 in Limassol, 33 in Larnaca, nine in Paphos, 15 in Famagusta and one in Morphou.

Traffic police booked eight individuals and conducted 1,346 inspections.

The rapid police unit participated with 180 checks and marine police with 90 but did not record any illegalities.
