Appointments for Covid-19 vaccinations for people over 80 will be available from 9am on Saturday, the health ministry announced on Friday.

As part of the national vaccination plan, 10,058 nationwide appointments will be available for the period between February 8 and 21.

Commenting on February’s vaccine deliveries, the ministry said: “the aim is to vaccinate with the first dose people over 75 years of age, as well as health professionals.”

At the same time, the vaccination of those belonging to specific groups at increased risk for serious illness will also begin following the recommendation of the ad hoc committee that has been set up to determine how the vulnerable groups will be prioritised.

The health ministry also announced the operation of a vaccination centre in the State Fair in Nicosia (room 51 and 61 and at the eastern entrance) starting February 10.

Another vaccination centre at the Spyros Kyprianou sports centre in Limassol will also operate from February 15.
