Cover

If you grew up in Cyprus, one particular figure comes to mind when thinking about shadow theatre: Karagiozis. His antics have been entertaining us for decades with songs and tales and long arms swinging side to side. This February, the famous and beloved figure has sneaked into the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia and is inviting all find out more about him and the world of shadow theatre.

The Leventis Museum, as part of its digital creative programmes, is holding a workshop for children and adults with museum educators revealing hidden secrets about shadow theatre. The workshop on February 24 will also involve participants and get creative, turning them into puppeteers by making their own figures.

The event is free to attend and those interested can tune in on Wednesday 24 at 2.30pm by watching the video posted on the museum’s Facebook and Instagram pages (@leventismuseum). Time to make our very own Karagiozis!
