Lidl Cyprus has raised €100,000 for the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society and, for the first time, has also pledged support for the Arodafnousa Palliative Care Centre’s Adopt-a-Room programme.

From November 30, 2020 until stock ran out, with each purchase of a package of selected wooden Playtive toys, Lidl Cyprus offered €15 to the Anti-Cancer body, raising a total of €100,000 – the largest amount contributed by the company to date for a public benefit purpose.

The amount will be allocated for the full coverage of Arodafnousa’s nutritional and Adopt-a-Room programmes.

A Greek-language video of Lidl’s contribution to the Arodafnousa Centre may be viewed here.

Lidl Cyprus’ first-time sponsorship of a room at Arodafnousa, comes during an extremely difficult year for the Centre, with the company’s goal being to provide uninterrupted palliative care to all cancer patients.

More broadly, and since 2013, Lidl Cyprus has offered the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society donations – in the form of both cash and products – amounting to €500,000.

Meanwhile, continuing in the spirit of its Christmas contribution, Lidl Cyprus also supported the TV concert, ‘An evening of love with Alkisti Protopsalti’, which was broadcast live by Alpha Cyprus on February 13.

Looking ahead, Lidl Cyprus will continue its socially-oriented initiatives, sending a message of hope and optimism across the island.
