Dusting off the art world

siarlis koupepia

Art is back. As measures are slowly lifted, the local art world can finally dust itself off and return to the spotlight. This March and April, the collective exhibition DUST will open its doors at Copperlemon creative space in Limassol, bringing together three local artists Opsis, Marios Siarlis and Alex Welch to showcase their most recent work.

Quite diverse in aesthetics and approach, yet close in spirit, they have been inspired by social, environmental, political and religious issues.

This exhibition will present sculptures, installations, paintings and prints. Taking place in an intriguing creative studio, Copperlemon, based in Limassol, the exhibition’s goal is to bring viewers closer to the artists’ working environments, while showcasing their work in an alternative setting to the usual gallery setup, allowing the audience to engage with the space and the exhibits in a more relaxed way. Starting on March 17, if measures allow, the exhibition will be open daily until April 6.

In the words of Pablo Picasso “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life” and this collective exhibition is a dusting of what Opsis, Marios Siarlis and Alex Welch have been up to lately.
