Encapsulating Ephemera: an exhibition

Since a new number to text for government approval was added to the list, theatres and galleries slowly began opening up their venues. Number 9 allows art lovers to briefly get a dose of art and artists to finally showcase their work. One artist, with studies across universities in Newcastle, Vienna and Kyoto, has already hung up his artwork in a gallery.

Giannis Aristotelous’ solo art exhibition opened at the Oh Gallery in Larnaca in February and will welcome in visitors until March 17. The exhibition Encapsulating Ephemera includes a series of large-scale paintings (215 x 170cm each) and a publication that talks about Giannis’ artistic practice and research alongside a series of images of the work.

The exhibition focuses on a body of work that revolves around the human senses as well as the notion of a physical and spiritual adrenaline rush. The large-scale paintings set the viewer in the first person, allowing a first-hand experience within the portrait-like environments, resulting in a deeply spiritual and contemplative experience between the viewer and the work.
