Female experiences of belonging and identity

poster (2)

A constellation of women from across the eastern Mediterranean will share their poetry, music, art, films, thoughts and experiences of belonging and identity at an upcoming virtual event that knows no borders. The event is a collaboration between the Arab non-profit organisation Sharq and a community of curious creatives from the eastern Mediterranean called Collectiva Inanna and welcomes participants from all cultures and walks of life.

On Sunday seven women will take part in the open-mic night event sharing their thoughts and reflections on being a female. The line-up consists of poets, storytellers, visual artists, pianists and writers. Two of the participants are Cypriot – Manuella Mavromichalis and Maria Kouvarou, and members of the Collective Inanna.

Taking place on Eventbrite.com at 7pm, the open mic night hopes to welcome guests from across the eastern Mediterranean region and be an open platform thanks to the multi-layered identities of the speakers and their stories which embody Syrian, Cypriot, Egyptian, Turkish, Greek, Libyan and Palestinian cultures.
