Coronavirus: Over 200 booked for breaking Covid dictates, most in Limassol

In the last 24 hours, police booked 207 individuals and three businesses – two in Limassol and one in Paphos – for breaking Covid dictates.

Police said between 6am Saturday and 6am on Sunday 13,222 checks were carried out islandwide.

In Limassol, consistently high in positive Covid cases which is being pinned on lack of compliance with the measures, 88 people and two premises were booked.

In Nicosia the number was 23, in Larnaca 35, in Paphos 24 plus one businesses. In the Famagusta area 17 bookings were made, and in the Morphou area, 4.

Reports later on Sunday said police were also investigating a video that was circulated on social media showing a group of people holding a carnival party at an unknown location.
