Coronavirus: six businesses, 164 individuals booked (update)

On Tuesday, the first day restaurants, cafes and bars were allowed to open under strict requirements, police booked six businesses and 164 individuals for violations of coronavirus protocols.

Of the six businesses four are located in Limassol. A butcher and a hairdresser were booked because they had not marked the premises while an employee of the butcher’s was not wearing a mask.

The operation of two establishments was temporarily suspended.

In one of them 10 people were playing bingo.

In the second one, eight guests were served in a closed space.

99 of the 164 individuals booked were also breaching protocols in Limassol.

In Paphos, a café was fined €500 because two customers were served inside. In Larnaca, a mini market was booked as an employee had not undergone a rapid test.

In total, 13,154 checks for violations were carried out between 6am on Tuesday and 6am on Wednesday.
