Coronavirus: Two restaurant owners among 145 charged

Police booked 145 individuals, among them two business owners, for violating restrictive measures on Wednesday.

One of the business owners will be prosecuted for opening a restaurant without an open space in Limassol.

A café owner in Kakopetria was fined €500 for serving customers inside the premises.

During the 24 hours from Wednesday morning until 6am on Thursday, 10,277 checks were carried out, 2,311 in Nicosia, 2,002 in Limassol, 1,879 in Larnaca, 1,401 in Paphos, 1,134 in Famagusta and 976 in the Morphou district.

Only eight people were fined in Nicosia but 73 in Limassol.

Another 15 were booked in Larnaca, 27 in Paphos, 11 in Famagusta and three in Morphou.

Eight individuals were charged after they were caught gambling in Paphos.

Traffic police checked 520 people and booked six of them.
