Celebrating 105 years of Frank Sinatra

Mid-December 2020 marked Frank Sinatra’s 105th birthday and this April one local musician is putting together a show to celebrate the life, music and legacy of this legendary American singer and actor. Presenting an authentic tribute to the master crooner, Michael Antoniou will perform an entertaining show at the Hickory restaurant in Paphos on April 24.

A Man and his Music was inspired by the one-hour television special about Frank Sinatra that first aired in 1965 to mark the occasion of Sinatra’s 50th birthday. Antoniou, who has performed in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Saudi Arabia, will deliver all things Sinatra next Saturday. On the evening, doors will open at 5pm with the choice of selecting a 4-course meal at the restaurant for €25, while the show will begin about an hour later. One more event is coming up at the Paphos restaurant, this one in a more colourful spring mood. Cinco de Mayo isn’t widely celebrated on the island. Though it celebrates an early victory by Mexican forces over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, it is mainly an annual festivity in the US. Nonetheless, inspired by the day, a Cinco de Mayo event is coming to Hickory restaurant on May 5, with all of the standard Mexican treats.

Margaritas, tequilas and Tex-Mex food including the popular fajitas, chimichangas, and the all-time-favourite nachos will be served on the day with the party starting at 4pm. New Rules Duo will add an acoustic note to the event with their live music set.
