Coronavirus: More than 200 booked for breaking decrees

ΚΟΡΩΝΟΪΟΣ ΜΕΤΡΑ ΑΠΑΓΟΡΕΥΣΗ ΚΥΚΛΟΦΟΡΙΑΣ ΕΛΕΓΧΟΣ

Police booked more than 200 people and businesses for failing to comply with coronavirus measures from Sunday until Monday morning.

A total of 207 individuals, including seven business owners were fined in 24 hours, only the second time the daily count was higher than 200 since the protocols were introduced.

Overall, 11,186 checks were carried out, 2,187 in Nicosia, 2,638 in Limassol, 1,644 in Larnaca, 1,057 in Paphos, 1,235 in Famagusta and 1,287 in the Morphou district.

Traffic police contributed with 1,078 inspections.

In Limassol alone 89 people were caught, most for not wearing masks and for neglecting to send messages to the government to ask for permissions for movements.
