Murex, the global leader in trading, risk management and processing solutions for capital markets, will bolster its regional footprint in the Europe-Middle East-Africa region with a new physical presence in Cyprus, the company said in a press release on Friday.

Murex will bring more than 100 workers to the island, the statement said.

The establishment of international ICT companies on the island has been a top strategic priority for Invest Cyprus.

George Campanellas, Chief Executive of Invest Cyprus, said: “Murex’s decision to open a satellite office in Cyprus is a vote of confidence for country’s potential. Cyprus offers enormous opportunities to international ICT companies to establish operations, scale up and flourish. Invest Cyprus in close cooperation with the Cyprus Tech Association, is supporting the further development of the sector, working in line with the relevant Ministries to reshape the FDI framework and make ICT companies and their people feel at home”

The company is among the top 10 software producers in Europe.

“After a deliberative process, Murex selected Nicosia among a host of other possible locations as a satellite of its Beirut office, the centre of the MEA region and an essential innovation site for Murex. Nicosia is scheduled to open in July 2021, leveraging internal expertise from the Beirut office.  Murex is confident that the office in Nicosia will further consolidate its capacity to deliver on its commitments to Murex clients in the long run,” the statement said.

Murex has devoted more than 30 years to the design, implementation and evolution of integrated trading, risk management, processing and post-trade solutions, leading to MX.3, its third generation platform..

It is used by medium-sized hedge funds, and from large corporations to energy utilities. More than 50,000 users around the globe rely every day on our platform for their trading, hedging, funding, risk management or processing operations.
