10 reasons why ‘toe-dip trips’ could trend in travel

Coined by Travelocity – the online agency owned by Expedia Group – a so-called ‘toe-dip trip’ is a shorter post-Covid-19 getaway, meant to rebuild confidence before booking bucket-list vacations. And, based on a recent survey by the company, 60 per cent of its online visitors say they’re planning such a trip within the next nine months.

So, could this be the next travel trend in a much-diminished tourism landscape? This video appears to think so, offering 10 reasons why many will adopt this ‘appetiser’ to travel, while awaiting the chance to roam more safely and responsibly, somewhere further down the line.
