Ahead of schools reopening with in person teaching on May 10, the ministry of education has announced that mobile units will be offering rapid tests at schools in all districts.

Teachers, other school staff and secondary school pupils are required to present a negative rapid coronavirus test valid for 72 hours on the first day of school.

Teachers with a valid anti-coronavirus vaccination certificate dating back to at least 14 days are exempt from having to take a rapid test, as are teachers and pupils who can prove they tested positive for the virus in the past six months.

In addition to the rapid test sites operating islandwide daily, mobile units will visit schools from May 7 to facilitate testing for pupils and their guardians.

Pupils must present their ID or other identification (eg birth certificate) as well as the written consent of their parents and guardians if not accompanied by them. The units will also cater for teachers.

The schedule for May 7, 8 and 9 can be found below.
