Third arrest in suspected rape case

Police have arrested a 39-year-old man as they investigate a case of rape, causing malicious damage to property and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday night. Two other men, aged 46 and 34, are already in police custody in connection with the same case.

The alleged offences occurred in Nicosia on April 18. As part of their investigations, police initially arrested the 46 and 34-year-olds and published the photograph of the third suspect asking for information to help find him.

A little after 7.00 pm on Tuesday, the man went to a Nicosia police station and was arrested.

Police investigations continue.
