Three important messages kids need to hear from parents

Mums and dads, this one is for you. In this video, positivity psychologist and life coach Dr. Paul Jenkins offers his recommendations for the three most important messages parents should send their kids – especially if they are in their teenage years.

These messages are, as follows:

  1. “I love you, no matter what, and even if…”
  2. “If you have any questions, ask…”
  3. “Good luck”

Sincerity and not sarcasm should be the chosen delivery mode, so that each message preserves kids’ agency, reassures them you are there for them, and lets them know they can choose to invite your insights.
