Autopsy on stabbing victim inconclusive

The autopsy of 36-year-old Lyubisha Ristoski who was stabbed to death on Sunday was carried out on Tuesday with the exact cause of death remaining inconclusive.

Ristoski, from Bulgaria, was a permanent resident of Cyprus and was found dead in an apartment in Yermasoyia by police at around 1pm on Sunday.

According to the autopsy, Ristoski’s skull was cracked and he had sustained bruises on his face and hands. Further examinations are expected to yield more details.

Police officers went to the apartment after receiving information about a fight between a number of people. At the scene they also found a 40-year-old man and his wife, 42, who live in the apartment. The couple were arrested.

According to the information, police said, Ristoski had earlier gone to the apartment, along with two other suspects, a man, 35, and a woman, 31.
