Woman charged after police catch her driving 134km/h in 65km zone

Police arrested a 22-year-old woman late on Monday for driving twice over the speed limit in Larnaca.

Traffic officers stopped the woman at around 9.20pm, after she was clocked going 134km per hour on Ellados Avenue, Aradippou where the speed limit is 65km per hour, police said.

She was charged and released pending a court hearing.

Traffic police intensified checks this week as part of the 6th UN Global Traffic Safety Week, celebrated from May 17 to 23.
