Elam leader to run for House president

Elam leader Christos Christou

Far right party Elam said on Tuesday its leader would be running for president of parliament when the legislature reconvenes for the first time next week following the elections.

Sunday’s poll saw the far right party double its representation in parliament to four seats while the two big parties, ruling Disy and Akel, lost one seat each.

In a statement on Tuesday, Elam thanked the 24,255 people who voted for them and announced that Christos Christou will be running for the House presidency.
