Crafty events in the city

Nicosia’s art scene has two upcoming events that brings crafts to the street and open-air bars. Perikleous street in old Nicosia will be a festive corner this Saturday as artists and creative shops of the area come together for a funky event called Urban Rhythm 4.2.

Archive Artspace, a store featuring various local artists, is collaborating with Barking Cats, an underground electronic music scene radio station, and Noise shop, a new photography space for an afternoon event starting at 5pm.

BillyD, Alekkos and Motif will play groovy tunes while visitors are invited to explore the numerous creative nooks of the alley. Archive artspace will be open throughout the day, whilst Kafeneio ison will provide a sitting area, serving the evening’s refreshments. As for food, El Paso Mexican will be preparing tasty bites throughout the event.

Next week, an even more crafty event is coming to Nicosia as Evergreen Vegan & Vegetarian café-bar, a venue within the Nicosia Municipal Gardens, is hosting an arts and crafts bazaar on the afternoon of June 12. “On this day,” say organisers, “you will find items such as illustrations, paintings, second-hand clothing, jewellery and more artsy and craftsy artefacts. There will be no entry fee and all prices of the objects being sold are pocket friendly. Evergreen will be open throughout the event to serve you with refreshing beverages and fill your appetite with tasty bites!”
