A batch of deep-frozen chicken and pork sheftalia have been withdrawn from the market after authorities found traces of salmonella bacteria, the health ministry said on Saturday.

The first product concerns Paradisiotis’ chicken roll with bacon, cheese, ham and halloumi sold in a plastic vacuum sealed bag and a lot number of 210424. The product was frozen on April 26, 2021 and had an expiration date by October 10, 2022. The barcode of the product was 2802050014468.

The pork sheftalia is produced by Kitromilides and are sold in 700 grammes packs with a black plastic tray with a transparent plastic cover. The barcode was 5290167001063 and the product’s best before date was April 10, 2022.

Salmonella bacteria were traced in both products following an analysis by the state general laboratory.

The ministry said anyone who purchased these products should return them to the store they bought them from.
