File photo

A 31-year-old in Paphos was found to be driving under the influence of drugs on Sunday during a road check, police said on Monday.

The driver has also provided a second sample which will undergo a lab test to confirm the original result.

The man, whose licence had expired on March 31, 2020 was also driving a vehicle that had previously been deleted from the ministry of transport database.

The deletion takes place after a vehicle has either not been taken or has failed to pass its MOT.
