Teen basketball star wants to be a youth role model

Hey kids, in this video we meet 17-year-old Aalyah Del Rosario, a 6’6”  high-schooler setting milestones on and off the basketball court.

Aalyah was born in the US, but spent most of her childhood in the Dominican Republic, before ultimately returning to the States.

Initially having struggled in adapting back to life in America, she now converses easily in her second language, English. In fact, the teen athlete, a native Spanish speaker, dreams of helping and inspiring others to express their potential, as she is doing – through motivation, hard work and persistence.

“I want to major in Business in college,” she says, regarding her later plans, “but I also enjoy the other classes as well, like History, Math, English, because those help you learn for the future.”

Given her commitment always to be pushing to attain new heights, chances are good Aalyah will serve as a role model for many other young people, wherever life takes her to next.
