How a family of five are pursuing a zero-waste lifestyle

In celebration of the global Plastic Free July campaign this video offers the inspiring story of a zero waste/waste-free family in Hobart, Australia.

The video is made by Happen Films, a New Zealand-based group who create solutions-focused documentaries that explore how to build resilient communities and landscapes in the face of global challenges. To arrange a public screening of any of their excellent short films or features, click here.

Plastic Free July is a global movement helping millions of people to be part of the solution to plastic pollution, in order to enjoy cleaner oceans and communities.

Here, we meet Lauren, Oberon and their kids, who have found ways to produce almost no rubbish, filling only one small jar of waste in two years!

By going behind the scenes with them and getting better acquainted with the tips and hacks they’ve adopted along the way, there are takeaways to consider applying in our own lives, in order to minimise and ultimately move away from one-use plastic dependency, year-round.
