Summer in the city with the AG Leventis Gallery

digital guided tours

School’s out! It’s a super fun time for kids but perhaps less so for parents who still have to find ways to keep children busy and entertained. The AG Leventis Gallery has come up with a series of programmes, events and virtual tours that will entice both old and young.

The gallery’s Coco Creativity Centre is preparing a virtual summer school titled Travelling Through Art. “For this unusual summer,” they say, “we are offering our young friends an exciting trip through art to different times and places all over the world! Discover the magic of the Venice carnival, enjoy a delicious crêpe with Boudin in Trouville, sail on the crystal blue waters of the Ionian Sea, dance in the streets of Havana!”

Every Wednesday, during July and August, the Centre will travel with its young audience to a new place inspired by paintings and objects in the gallery’s Collections. The videos will be posted on the Gallery’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Its social media accounts will reveal the destinations and the materials needed for the activities.

Also on in July, a unique recital will take place at the gallery featuring two high school students and their cellos. On July 7, two talented students of the English School, Eleonora Savvidi-Missouri and Sofia Cleopa, return to the gallery to give a live recital, this time in the Greek Collection. The performance will be live-streamed on the gallery’s social media at 5pm.

The summer agenda will also include digital guided tours throughout July (7, 14, 21, 28) and August (4, 8). The AG Leventis Gallery team has made a selection of paintings from the publication Director’s Choice: The AG Leventis Gallery, by director Loukia Loizou Hadjigavriel to take art lovers on a journey into the magic world of art in their Collections. Get connected with the Gallery’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel and enjoy your journey through art.
