Police investigate after man assaulted

Police are investigating after a 41-year-old man filed a complaint that he had been assaulted with a bat outside his apartment building in Limassol early on Friday.

The incident occurred just after midnight at the entrance of the apartment building of the 41-year-old. According to his statement to the police, two unknown persons attacked him using a bat.

The attackers then fled in a rental car, which police traced to a 32-year-old man. Police searched for the suspect at the hotel he had given as his accommodation, but he has not yet been found.

The injured man was transferred to the hospital where doctors said he had serious bruises on his left arm and back.

Investigations continue while police issued an arrest warrant against the 32-year-old.
