Coronavirus: Fifty-two people, three establishments booked

Police reported 52 people and three establishments over the past 24 hours for violating health and safety measures in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

A spokesman said 3,368 checks were carried out across the Republic, most in the Nicosia district –1,089 — where one establishment and 11 individuals were booked.

In Limassol, officers conducted 343 checks and reported nine people while in Larnaca, eight people were reported during 647 checks.

Police in Paphos carried out 315 checks and reported one establishment and three individuals and in Famagusta, which is currently seeing a surge in infections, officers booked one establishment and 21 people after 580 checks.

Checks were also carried out in the Morphou area without any reports. Traffic and marine police also conducted checks without booking anyone.
