Coronavirus: Vaccination portal now open to everyone over 16

The health ministry on Friday presented updated instructions for the rescheduling of vaccination appointments, reminding the public that the vaccination portal will from now on be open to everyone aged 16 and over.

Those needing to reschedule their appointment for their first dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine may contact the 1474 helpline in order to first cancel their original appointment.

After cancelling their appointment they will be able to use the vaccination portal as normal to book a new one.

When it comes to rescheduling a second jab, and only for a serious reason, members of the public must send an email to [email protected] with their full name and ID number, as well as the date and time of their appointment, the vaccination centre and type of vaccine.

The email should also include a telephone number (preferably a mobile number so that a text may be sent), a reason for wanting to reschedule (for example in case of catching covid or being a contact of a case), and lastly, a date for the rescheduled appointment.

After processing requests the ministry will be contacting applicants by phone to give them a time for their new appointment.

The ultimate goal is to facilitate access to vaccines and streamline the process, the ministry said, reiterating once more that vaccination is one of the main branches of its strategy against Covid.
