Facility housing unaccompanied minors damaged by fire

A fire broke out at 2am on Saturday in a room of the facility housing unaccompanied minors in Larnaca.

The 21 minor children were safely evacuated, authorities said.

According to the fire service, three fire engines extinguished the blaze.

The fire caused damage to the room where the blaze broke out while the entire floor was filled with smoke.

An investigation will be carried out Saturday to determine the exact cause of the fire.
