Jada Pinkett Smith recalls struggle with substance abuse

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith this week recalled the wake-up call that she had to overcome her substance abuse.

Discussing her past experiences with drugs and alcohol during the latest episode of ‘Red Table Talk’, the 49-year-old recalled a time where she “passed out” on the set of the 1996 comedy ‘The Nutty Professor’ after taking what she describes as a “bad batch of ecstasy”.

Pinkett Smith said she had attempted to cover up the incident by telling colleagues she must have taken expired medication. Nevertheless, the actress maintains opening up about her past addictions brings her closer to her family.
