Windcraft Music Nest returns

windcraft 3

For the past few years, musicians and music festival lovers have been heading to the quaint Katydata village every August to enjoy the lively and immersive Windcraft Music Festival. Last year, this festival along with many others took a momentary pause yet this summer the renamed Windcraft Music Nest is ready to bounce back and bring music and creativity to village residents and festival-goers alike!

On August 6, 7 and 8, Windcraft returns to its musical nest – Katydata – for three summer days filled with the sound of winds. This year’s seventh edition of the established music festival will include concerts and workshops for children and adults. Throughout the weekend, the festival promises to offer magical moments of musical coexistence in a cosy and safe environment.

With a slightly different programme, while preserving the same concept, the event will present the original work of Cypriot and foreign artists who blend different musical traditions and will feature winds in different types of music, such as ethnic, funk, jazz and traditional music from around the world. The educational and interactive character of the festival is reinforced by two three-day music seminars, one for wind players and one for vocalists, and two music workshops for children.

There is always lots happening at Windcraft, taking visitors on a participatory musical journey around the village, interacting with local residents and each other alike. This year’s edition, though altered to keep up with the times, is bound to be equally as fun – even if under the August heat!
