Workshop looks at how Dead can dance

july 21 dead

You have to admit, that is a bold title for a workshop but the creative session that is coming up at MedOrganic MindSpa in Limassol on July 17 is all about being inventive and authentic. Dead Can Dance will be a workshop exploring the effects of altered mind states and their impact on one’s creativity.

Although this is the first event of its kind held at the MedOrganic MindSpa space, numerous mindful, creative and introspective workshops have been organised there in past – cacao ceremonies, women’s circles, clothes exchanges. In this session, through dancing, meditation, brain synchronisation and a cut-up literature creation technique made famous by Mr V Burroughs, the workshop will seek authentic aliveness, “which can only be achieved by staring extinction straight in the eyes as the ancient Eleusian mystics used to do”, say organisers.

“Do we dare?!…” they ask. “At these times of tremendous intelligence diluted with pools of total absurdity observing the earth heating up as one big sizzling pan, caged and freed by the mighty power of the internet… do we still dare to reach for the other side and find anything worth of remembrance for the may or may not existing future?” The session will begin at 6pm and is free to attend with donations welcomed.
