The extradition process for a fugitive wanted by the US will begin on September 21, the Paphos District Court ruled on Monday.

According to the police, the 33-year-old man is wanted by Interpol for crimes committed in the United States, including money laundering, fraud and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The man was arrested during passport control at Paphos airport on Saturday after having arrived from London.

The man will remain in custody until August 2, when the court will decide whether to keep him in custody until the extradition process begins in September.
