Two more remands expected over Ayia Napa attack

Two men will be taken before the Famagusta district court later on Friday for a remand order over their involvement in a case of causing grievous bodily harm to a man and a woman, aged 39 and 36, in Ayia Napa on July 30.

The couple reported to police that the 39-year-old had been beaten up by four people while they were in a property in the Ayia Napa.

As a result the man suffered a fractured nose a broken tooth, a ruptured eardrum, and bruises on various parts of his body.

The 36-year-old was also injured after suffering bruises in various places.

The two were taken to a private clinic, where the 39-year-old was kept for two days, while the 36-year-old was discharged after receiving first aid.

On Wednesday, three others, aged 44, 38 and 31, were arrested by Famagusta CID and were remanded for four days by Famagusta district court on Thursday. The 44-year-old was later released after investigations against him were completed.

A 48-year-old was arrested on Thursday morning and a 39-year-old later in the night and will be taken to court later on Friday.

The case is being investigated by the Famagusta CID.
