Man arrested for drink driving, speeding

Police arrested a 31-year-old man early Monday for drink driving and speeding on the Limassol to Nicosia motorway.

Police said the man was flagged down after he was clocked driving at 151kph when the legal speed limit  is 100kph.

The driver failed to stop and continued on his way but he was intercepted a little later, police said.

He was breathalysed, with the reading showing 80 μgr of alcohol. The legal limit is 22 μgr.

The driver was arrested and is expected to be brought before the District Court of Nicosia later on Monday.
