Two men aged 20 and 25 were remanded for four days at Larnaca district court after attempting to travel with forged documents a day earlier, police said on Sunday.

They were arrested on Saturday at around 6pm at Larnaca airport when attempting to travel to another European country. Police did not specify which country nor where the two men were from – only that they were of African origin.

While the 25-year-old was at passport control at around 5:30pm, officers had suspicions that the passport was forged, which he admitted was the case. He was arrested on the spot and detained.

Half an hour later, the 20-year-old, who was booked on a flight to another European country was stopped at passport control when officers suspected his documents to be fake. He too, also admitted and was arrested on the spot and detained.
