Paphos police have detained two men, aged 35 and 36, who had been living in the Republic without the necessary permits.

The pair were arrested in Kissonerga on Sunday morning.

Police said the 36-year-old had arrived on the island through the north in 2017. He then crossed into the Republic from an unknown location.

The 35-year-old had an outstanding warrant for his extradition issued by the migration department on July 27.

The warrant was issued because he was living in the Republic without permit and failure to comply with a decision to leave the country.
