A 73-year-old man died early on Tuesday three days after he was hospitalised in serious condition following a road collision in Larnaca.

The pensioner was driving on Limassol Avenue in Larnaca at the traffic light junction with Nikiphorou Fokia and Makedonias Streets when, under conditions that are being investigated, his motorcycle crashed into the left side of a car that was driving towards Makedonias.

The 53-year-old driver of the car did not suffer any serious injuries.

An ambulance arrived at the scene and rushed the motorcyclist to hospital, from where he was transported to the Nicosia general hospital due to the seriousness of his condition.

Police told the state broadcaster Cybc early on Tuesday that the man succumbed to his injuries in the early morning hours of Tuesday.
