Man arrested for stealing cash under threat of violence

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of threatening and stealing €3,740 from a family in Limassol.

The incident was reported by a 27-year-old man who said that on August 30, four unidentified persons entered the yard of his house and threatened him and his family with a knife asking for money.

After the family gave the thieves €3,740 in cash, they fled the scene.

Police said the 23-year-old man was one of the suspects.

He is being investigated for conspiracy to commit a crime, robbery, extortion with threats, carrying a knife, and threat to use force
