Coronavirus: 39 people, seven businesses fined

Police fined 39 individuals and seven businesses in the past 24 hours for breaking Covid decrees.

Most of the fines on individuals were related to not wearing a face covering.

In all 3,644 checks were carried out.

By district, Nicosia had 1,376 inspections where four people and one business were booked, the latter for not checking on SafePasses.

In Limassol, there were 368 inspections, which resulted in 18 fines for people and one establishment that had to many customers.

Larnaca saw 568 checks. There, four people were booked and two businesses whose staff were not wearing masks.

In Paphos, there were 230 inspections out of which three people and three businesses were booked  the latter due to lack of face coverings on staff or lack of a SafePass among staff, or they served people without their papers.

In the Famagusta area, ten individuals were booked under the diktats.
