The fourth edition of the Animatikon Project started this week with its main activities happening at Kimonos Art Centre in Paphos. A special screening programme titled The Wandering Festival will not take place in Paphos though and instead will travel to Limassol for a single day at Rialto Theatre.

On Sunday, The Wandering Festival will offer a two-hour screening event, split into two parts. The first is set to take place between 7pm and 7.45pm and presents a selection of animated films for children which were submitted to this year’s edition of the Animattikon Project. At 8pm, the second part will begin with a selection of films from the archive of the Animattikon Project that have participated in previous editions of the festival.

More events, screenings, exhibitions, lectures and workshops by professionals of the field, both from Cyprus and abroad are planned for the Animattikon Festival itself. Apart from Rialto Theatre which collaborates with the organisers to bring this Wandering Festival programme, this year’s edition of the festival is organised in collaboration with the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of the Cyprus University of Technology, under the hospices of the Cyprus Animation Association – ASIFA Cyprus.
